Dear colleagues,

On May 16, 2025, the Association of Ophthalmologists of Uzbekistan held the 2nd International Scientific and Practical Conference titled “Innovative Technologies in Ophthalmology – 2025.”

The aim of the conference was to introduce ophthalmology professionals to modern innovative methods of diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases, as well as to promote the integration of these approaches into clinical and scientific practice.

The conference was designed for ophthalmologists, academic staff of ophthalmology departments from medical universities in both near and far-abroad countries, as well as for PhD students, residents, and clinical fellows.

Key thematic areas of the conference included:

• Glaucoma: past, present, and future;
• Anterior segment pathology;
• Refractive disorders;
• Pediatric ophthalmopathology;
• Innovative diagnostic and treatment methods in ophthalmology.

More than 850 specialists from Uzbekistan, Belarus, Russia, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, South Korea, India, and the USA took part in the event.

The conference was held at the Hilton Tashkent City hotel. Over 550 participants attended in person, while more than 300 joined online via a live broadcast on the official website of the Association of Ophthalmologists of Uzbekistan.

Throughout the conference, 52 speakers delivered presentations, and the following materials were presented:

• Over 80 scientific papers,
• 22 theses,
• 15 scholarly articles,
• 52 presentations.

Participants highly appreciated the richness of the program, the relevance of the topics, and the professionalism of the speakers.

All conference materials are available electronically on the official website of the Association and have also been published in the journal “Modern Ophthalmology”, Volume 13, Issue 2, May 2025.
